First Alert Forecast: cooler temps have arrived

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Your First Alert Forecast for the first weekend of August features noticeably cooler temperatures and lower rain chances. Afternoon highs through Sunday will stay in the lower and middle 80s and overnight lows will dip into the 60s.

Heading into the new week high bump back up to the middle and upper 80s with the return of scattered showers and storms.

The much cooler weekend weather arrived in southeast NC just as we promised. We should get a taste of 60s early Sunday and Monday mornings. This should end a streak of 60 days since June 4 where the temperature has not dropped below 70 in Wilmington. #WECTwx#ILMwxpic.twitter.com/s9EplQzKGT
