LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Kentucky animal shelters are seeing an uptick in animal surrenders, causing shelters across the state to be at capacity.
Louisville Metro Animal Services said it’s not just a local issue, but part of a growing problem playing out at shelters across the country.
“Altogether, we took in 46 dogs last night alone,” said Justin Franklin, assistant director. “That was from intake and from animal control handling some cruelty cases they’re looking into. And we have about eight more coming in today that we already know of.”…
