PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — Texan Robert Youens has completed and broken the record for The Great Loop in 19 days, 13 hours and one minute.

A 6,000-mile network of lakes, rivers and waterways, The Great Loop challenges boaters to travel in a continuous route, stretching from the Gulf Coast, up the East Coast, all the way to Canada and back. Youens first set off on July 12, leaving from Pensacola, FL.

“I went out to have fun and a record was, yeah, I really wanted to get the record, but it became so much more than that, it became this,” said Youens.
Upon his arrival to Pensacola’s Navy Point Boat Ramp, folks were lined along the pier with music and cheers to welcome Youens back to dry land…
