LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A man was arrested at Pentzer Park on Friday, after an allegedly assaulting an officer.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, an officer contacted 54-year-old Ronald Burns near 28th and Fair streets, because he was there after hours. Burns appeared highly intoxicated and when asked multiple times for his name and ID, he said he was going to walk away, LPD said.
LPD said Burns then threw a blanket at the officer, pushed the officer when instructed to stop walking away, used a mop handle with a broken off mop head to slam the top of the officer’s foot several times during the ensuing struggle and kicked the officer in the back while being handcuffed…
