San Antonio got the Hollywood treatment 42 years ago when filmmakers set up their shots amid Alamo City locales.
The 1984 spy adventure film “Cloak & Dagger,” starring San Antonio native Henry Thomas, started filming in the Alamo City on Aug. 8, 1983, records show. The film, which also stars Dabney Coleman, centers on a boy who gets lost in an Atari video game called “Cloak & Dagger”and creates a role-playing scenario based on the game’s secret-agent plot.
The film, set in San Antonio, showcases several Alamo City landmarks, including the River Walk, Japanese Tea Garden, Tower of the Americas, the Sky Ride at Brackenridge Park and exterior shots of the Alamo. Principal photography continued in San Antonio through Oct. 7, 1983…
