A 17-year-old from Warren, Joshua Dismuke, is facing adult charges, including assault with intent to murder, in connection with a July 22 shooting incident that occurred during the filming of a music video in Eastpointe, Michigan. According to WWJ Newsradio, Dismuke was arraigned on nine criminal counts last Friday in the 38th District Court.
The list of charges against Dismuke includes one count of assault with intent to murder, one count of tampering with evidence, one count of lying to a police officer, one count of assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer, and five gun-related charges. After the shooting, Dismuke allegedly fled the scene but was later arrested. As stated by a CBS News Detroit report, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office deemed the decision to charge Dismuke as an adult a reflection of the seriousness of the assault with intent to murder charge.
Furthermore, if Dismuke manages to post the $1 million bond set for his release, he would be subject to strict conditions, including GPS tethering. “While the defendant is a juvenile, the charges, particularly assault with intent to murder, are extremely serious, and the decision to charge him as an adult reflects the gravity of the offense,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J.
