GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, with stronger storms to our north.
- This Evening: Morning storms limited our daytime heating today, with our high temperatures barely scraping the 80s. The remainder of the afternoon looks quiet. Lows overnight in the mid-70s.
- Sunday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms for the afternoon. Highs reaching into the low-90s.
- Extended: The stalled boundary to our north continues to keep storm chances scattered and humid tropical air over us. However, most of the storm coverage will be towards the East Coast and along the sea breezes.
Morning showers and thunderstorms did verify, limiting our high temps in the process. For tomorrow and the start of your work week, expect mostly clear conditions with isolated showers and storms in the afternoon period. That pattern looks to continue throughout the week, with increasing coverage by Wednesday.
TROPICS: An area off the eastern coast is currently under watch with the potential for another invest to form in the coming days. It currently has a 70% chance to become a named storm in the next seven days. The initial surface low pressure is from the stalled boundary to our north.
