PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — What a terrific-feeling weekend! Although we did have quite a bit of cloud cover across the Piedmont on Saturday, temperatures were fantastic in the mid-70s. Hopefully, you had a chance to get out and enjoy those comfortable August temperatures, which we all know can be much hotter in the Carolinas.
As we move into Sunday, we’ll see more sunshine than we saw on Saturday, mixed in with a few clouds. Temperatures will still be comfortable with highs in the mid-70s and morning lows will be in the upper 50s for those who live away from the big cities, while others see overnight temperatures near 60 degrees.
As we start the work week, we will still see partly cloudy, mostly dry conditions, and temperatures still hovering close to 80 degrees. Rain chances increase a bit on Tuesday with isolated showers in the afternoon and a better chance of rain on Wednesday. We could even have a rumble of thunder or two in those storms as they move through the area and some could put down some heavy rain…
