Homestead Inmate Busted with ‘Black Market’ Haul at Coleman Prison
A federal judge has handed down a 14-month prison sentence to an inmate who was caught trying to smuggle a black market of illicit goods into a low-security prison.
United States District Judge Thomas P. Barber sentenced Jose Santos Pardo, 25, of Homestead, to an additional 14 months behind bars for possession of contraband by a federal inmate. Santos Pardo pleaded guilty to the charge on March 25, 2025.
According to court records, the incident occurred at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex (FCC Coleman) in 2022.
