Prison Lt. Arrested in Massive Drug and Contraband Bust

Montgomery, Ala. (WDNews) — An Alabama Department of Corrections lieutenant has been arrested and accused of trafficking large quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana as part of a prison contraband ring.

Lt. Calvin Bush was taken into custody following a major ADOC investigation into illegal drug and contraband smuggling at St. Clair Correctional Facility. The arrest led to the discovery of a significant amount of narcotics and unauthorized items.

Agents say a July 31 search of Bush’s residence uncovered approximately 8 pounds of meth, 19 pounds of marijuana, and hundreds of grams of other drugs, including crack cocaine, flakka precursor powder, and synthetic cannabinoids. Investigators also found 156 cell phones, nine Oxycodone pills, two cellular hotspots, and more.
