A break from the clouds

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) – Well did everyone enjoy the nice break in the humidity and heat today? We should see this less humid and slightly cooler air mass stick around for a few days. A stalled cold front is off to our south. It has keep the clouds in place along and just west of the coastal areas. As you get further into the Pee Dee a little more sunshine made an appearance.

As we go through the next few days, that drier air mass will settle across the area. We will see temperatures we will see times of sun and clouds, going through Tuesday we could see a few battles with some light showers across the timeframe. Temperatures will be in the mid 80s. It will not be as humid. Heat index values will stay in the mid to upper 80s, to low 90s. So not bad for early August standards.

As we get into the middle of the week, a return to warm and humid air starts. We will see a stalled front to our south, that will work its way slowly north, interacting with a boundary to our west. This will help introduce some scattered showers and possibly a few thunderstorms…
