Lawsuits likely to follow ‘major screwup’ with retail marijuana licenses, cannabis attorney says

Gov. Kathy Hochul says the state’s Office of Cannabis Management made a “major screwup” when it failed to properly calculate the distance that retail cannabis shops must be from schools and houses of worship in order to receive a license.

While the mistake has put around 90 licensed marijuana retailers at risk in the city, the governor is now promising to find a legislative solution.
