Sunday, a few rounds of storms moved through the metroplex due to a shortwave, northwesterly flow aloft, and a plethora of moisture in the atmosphere.
Nickel and penny-sized hail have been reported along with 45-50 mph gusts, but no damage has been reported.
DFW airport recorded its first measurable rain in almost 3 weeks, 0.59 inches. Temperatures dropped from the low 90s to the low 70s at the airport, and will tick back up to the low 80s, so a nice cool down from the rain.
Outflow boundaries could trigger a few isolated storms over the next couple of hours, but for most of us, this is the end of the rain for today and this evening…
