Hiker hospitalized after being rescued from Gold Canyon trail

GOLD CANYON, AZ (AZFamily) —A woman is in critical condition after being rescued off a hiking trail in Gold Canyon on Saturday.

Around 2 p.m., crews from Superstition Fire & Medical District and Pinal County Sheriff’s Office responded to Peralta Trail after someone called in to report their hiking partner had become unconscious.

When first responders arrived, they found a woman in her 50s more than halfway up the trail suffering from heat-related issues. Arizona’s Family First Alert Weather Team says temperatures were around 109 at the time crews were dispatched…
