A majority of Michigan’s local leaders say the state is on the wrong track, according to a recent survey.
This pessimism among local leaders has declined from an all-time survey high during the pandemic but still remains above pre-pandemic levels, according to the survey released last month by the Center for Local, State and Urban Policy at University of Michigan’s Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy.
The data shows 51% of local leaders who responded to the survey earlier this year believe Michigan is on the wrong track. This represents a decrease from the all-time survey high of 67% in 2021, but remains slightly higher than the 47% who felt this way in 2019, before the pandemic…
