August gets underway with seasonal temperatures, minimal chances for rain

The upcoming week of weather is looking to stay fairly calm, with seasonal temperatures and minimal chances for rain.

Our best chances for any rain in the region this week will be in the first half—after Wednesday, most rain chances will dry out as our temperatures slowly creep back up. Meteorologist Andy Lesage with the National Weather Service in Paducah says those temperatures will be seasonal, with heat index values in the 90’s, creeping toward 100 in the weekend.

That will still feel much better than it did before the cold front moved through, busting the heatwave that had lingered over the area and finally breaking the streak of very high humidity. In fact, Lesage says it was a record-breaking length of dew points of over 73 degrees across the entire area…
