EPD arrest suspects accused of stealing nearly $1,000 from Walmart

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Two Evansville residents were arrested after authorities say they attempted to steal nearly $1,000 in merchandise from a Walmart on Burkhardt Road on Sunday.

According to an affidavit, officers were dispatched to the store after an employee reported that two people attempted to leave the store with merchandise without paying. Officers stopped a car matching a description provided by a reporter who was able to identify two suspects inside the car.

Police say one of the suspects, Shariah Collins, 34, said she left the store and returned to the vehicle after discovering her food stamp card did not have any money on it. The other suspect, Victor Henry, 63, told authorities he never left the building with the cart full of merchandise. When asked if he passed all points of sale with the cart, Henry reportedly remained silent and said he did not want to answer further questions…
