NORTHEAST INDIANA (WPTA) – An Air Quality Action Day (AQAD) has been issued for Tuesday in several northern Indiana cities as Canadian wildfire smoke continues to impact the area.
The alert will be in effect all day on Tuesday, August 5, in the following areas:
- Angola;
- Auburn;
- Decatur;
- Fort Wayne;
- Hartford;
- Huntington;
- LaGrange;
- Marion;
- Portland;
- Wabash; and
- all other cities within the area.
The AQAD is also in effect for north central and northwestern Indiana cities.
The Indiana Department of Environmental Management issued the AQAD because ozone levels are expected to be in the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups”, or “Orange”, range.
