Potter Park Zoo shares update on sick rhino

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Potter Park Zoo announced on Facebook that Doppsee, Lansing’s rare Black Rhino, is showing signs of improvement after being monitored 24/7 for a health scare.

Doppsee had what zoo officials called a “medical emergency” last week after “a very sudden decline in her health.”

Zoo officials say veterinarians will continue to provide treatment for colic and monitor her 24/7.

6 News went to the zoo and spoke with its head veterinarian. While we were there, our team saw Doppsee’s mate, Finneas, anxiously waiting in the zoo’s rhino enclosure. On the other side of the door was Doppsee — and a team of as many as 20 veterinarians…
