The historic construction of Collier County’s first Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) is going to impact motorists in a significant way for the first time since the project launched.
The Florida Department of Transportation issued the following traffic alert for the I-75 at Pine Ridge Road Interchange:
- During the nighttime/overnight hours of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Aug. 4 and Aug. 5, motorists should expect the southbound off-ramp to be closed at the Pine Ridge Road interchange for crews to complete an underground pipe crossing.
- During the ramp closures, motorists should use the Immokalee Road (exit 111) interchange to Livingston Road or Santa Barbara Boulevard/Logan Boulevard to access Pine Ridge Road.
- Please use extra caution and follow detour signage or seek alternate routes.
- Law enforcement will be onsite to assist motorists during the closures. These activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen conditions.
The estimated $27.5 million project started in March and is expected to be completed by summer of 2027.
Lee County’s first ever Diverging Diamond Interchange (at I-75 and Colonial Boulevard) was completed in June. Another DDI is being going to be built in Lee County at I-75 and Daniels Parkway.
