August is here and has brought along with it comfortable temperatures thus far. Temperatures today will make a run well into the 80s as wildfire smoke slowly seeps down towards ground level. The milky white appearance to the sky will become more of a near surface haze, slightly reducing visibility and likely impacting air quality to some extent (50-100+ AQI, especially to the NW). As a result, an air quality alert has been issued for all of the area for unhealthy levels of fine particulates.

Now aside from the smoke, today is otherwise shaping up to be a beautiful summer day. Highs this afternoon head into the mid/upper 80s for the interior, while most coastal communities should be towards 80s degrees despite a seabreeze.
