‘Happy Gilmore 2’: Syracuse University alum reveals surprise role in new movie

Adam Sandler once played a Syracuse University alumnus in a movie. Now a real-life Syracuse graduate is playing Sandler.

Max Kessler, who got a degree in finance and accounting from SU’s Martin J. Whitman School of Management in 2014, revealed on Instagram that he appears in Sandler’s latest movie, “Happy Gilmore 2.” Kessler is credited as a young Happy Gilmore body double in flashback scenes, including for a backflop stunt.

“I had to do the Happy Gilmore swing and full-on flop into the water,” Kessler said in an Instagram video. “I remember doing this six times. Hair, makeup, new costume. By the end of it, I was exhausted. I was cold. I was wet. But I would do that time and time again.”…
