On Tuesday, July 29th, the Honorable Henry Wingate, Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi, ruled not to allow JXN Water to increase water rates until he’s satisfied as to how the City of Jackson used proceeds from an $89.8 million settlement with Siemens. His decision did not sit well with Interim Third-Party Manager Ted Henifin who claims a rate hike is imperative to pay outstanding contractors and run Jackson’s water system efficiently. Following Wingate’s decision, Henifin voiced that he might resign from the post he’s held for the past three years. His bold statement did not phase Wingate:
