Do you know how many farmers markets are in Nevada? Are Nevada farmers markets seasonal or year-round? Who will you find at the markets?

After looking everywhere to find limited information, our project team took it upon ourselves to establish the facts about Nevada farmers markets. As of July 2025, we counted 47 farmers markets, with approximately two-thirds located in Clark County and the remaining scattered across the state. At the markets, you meet not only farmers and ranchers, but also beekeepers, lavender growers, urban farmers who grow microgreens and mushrooms indoors, and small local business owners.

The most challenging part of the project has been keeping track of farmers markets. Whenever we thought we finally nailed down market locations, dates and times, some information had already been outdated. Manager turnover is frequent, and many markets are experimenting with different dates, times and locations. Especially, rural markets struggle with the shortage of farmers who can produce enough and afford to staff their booths to remain profitable.
