Man rescued from underneath multiple car axles at Phoenix business

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is hospitalized after a workplace accident in west Phoenix on Monday morning.

Shortly after 9:30 a.m., Phoenix Fire technical rescue teams responded to a business on Madison Street in the area of 55th Avenue and Van Buren Street. There, they found a man in his 60s trapped under a stack of car axles that fell while being moved on a forklift.

Rescue crews used airbags and other equipment to lift the axles and free the man, who was transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition…
