Pawn Stars Expert’s Opinion Changes Seller’s Mind

Additional Coverage:

A “Pawn Stars” episode recently featured a would-be seller leaving empty-handed, despite an expert appraisal that surprised even Rick Harrison. The items in question? A seemingly decorative flintlock pistol and a damaged dagger, both purportedly from the Ottoman Empire.

Before entering the shop, the seller had high hopes for her items’ value. Harrison, ever the shrewd negotiator, called in an expert for an appraisal.

The expert confirmed the pistol, though partially decorative, was a functional Ottoman-era weapon. The dagger, despite its chips and fragility, was also deemed authentic, with one chip likely resulting from a past blade fight.

This detail particularly intrigued Harrison.

The expert’s valuations, however, fell short of the seller’s expectations. The dagger, due to its damage, was appraised at $400-$600, significantly less than the $1,200-$2,000 it could have fetched in perfect condition.

The flintlock pistol, deemed a common type, was valued at $375-$575. Disappointed, the seller declined to make a deal, opting to reconsider her options.
