CHP investigates crash possibly linked to brush fire on Highway 58 near Bear Mountain Blvd

BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — California Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that possibly led to a brush fire on the westbound Highway 58 just west of Bear Mountain Boulevard (223) on Monday. No one was injured in the crash, according to CHP’s website.

Just before 5 p.m., a semi-trailer truck and at least one vehicle collided in the area. One lane is open in the area. Expect delays.

A brush fire started shortly later on the right-hand side, said CHP’s website. A vehicle went down an embankment and overturned. It’s unknown if anyone is injured at this time.

The semi-truck was also overturned. A pick-up truck was possibly involved, as well…
