Bond lowered for woman arrested, charged after malnourished dog dies

BATAVIA, Ohio (WXIX) – A Clermont County woman who faces animal cruelty charges after a dog was found malnourished and later died, has had her bond lowered, according to court records.

Victoria Shoopman, 61, had her bond lowered from $50,000 to $10,000 for misdemeanor charges of cruelty to a companion animal and failure to register after a malnourished dog was discovered in her yard by a passerby, according to documents from the Clermont County Municipal Court.

The passerby contacted a veterinary technician who took the dog, named Apollo, to an emergency veterinary clinic.

Apollo later died due to his condition…
