City provides update on Broad Street Market reconstruction

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — Nearly 25 months have passed since the Broad Street Market burned down, and city leaders have made it no secret that reconstruction should have started by now.

City officials recently gave an update on reconstruction efforts, and work to restore the historic market to its former glory could begin sooner rather than later.

The market’s brick building was gutted in a fire in July 2023. City leaders say a lot has happened behind the scenes lately, and visible progress should happen in less than two months.
