The Shed shares gratitude courtesy of a customer appreciation day

Over the course of the past 21 years, The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint in Maryville has become a major go-to venue, not only in East Tennessee, but in the entire country as a whole. It attracts artists that have garnered major national and international recognition β€” Blackberry Smoke, Steve Earle, Everclear and Ray Wylie Hubbard, among them β€” while garnering a loyal following that beckons music lovers throughout the country and often as far away as Europe. Thanks to the efforts of Managing Partner Jay Proux, Production Manager Indy Carpenter and a dedicated team of employees, servers and production specialists, it’s seen as a special place to play by those that not only make it an annual stop in their touring schedules, but by patrons that eagerly return year after year.

To celebrate that success and give thanks to their clientele, The Shed will host a free customer appreciation party on Saturday, Aug. 23. In addition to a full afternoon and evening of music, games, ice cream provided by Everything Cool Estate Sales, and face painting for the kids courtesy of New Hope Baptist Church, local charities will be afforded an opportunity to set up booths and share information about their organizations and, if they choose, hold auctions, raffles and other activities.

The day will begin with a motorcycle swap meet from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and continue with live acoustic music from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. by EmiSunshine, the Garrett Boys from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Wyatt Ellis who will perform from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m…
