LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close the eastbound I-496 ramp to southbound US-127 in Lansing on Wednesday to allow crews to shift operations on the bridge over the Red Cedar River.
MDOT reports that this construction is part of a $205 million investment to rebuild US-127/I-496 from I-96 to I-496, addressing safety concerns, improving roadway geometrics, and improving vehicle movement.
“By the end of this construction season, we will have fixed, repaired or replaced nearly 24,500 lane miles of roads and 1,900 bridges, supporting thousands of good-paying, local jobs without raising taxes by a dime,’ said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in a news release sent to 6 News…
