LISD Police Chief gives back-to-school safety reminders for drivers, families

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – With the first day of school just days away for several districts, Lubbock ISD’s Chief of Police is urging drivers and families to stay alert and take extra precautions.

Eric Tijerina with Lubbock ISD Police says patience is key as more school buses hit the streets and students walk to and from campus.

“There’s going to be a lot more traffic, give yourself some time to get to where you’re going, there’s going to be buses picking up kids, dropping them off, students walking to and from school,” Tijerina said…
