More heat in South Plains

LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Sunny skies and summer-like heat have returned to the South Plains today. I expect more heat as high pressure builds into the region along with plenty of sunshine.

Daytime temperatures will climb to near 100 on Tuesday, then will likely remain at or above 100 degrees for the remainder of the week. The afternoon temps will average between 100-104 degrees from Wednesday through Friday in Lubbock.

The nighttime lows will be pleasant and provide some relief from the heat with morning temperatures ranging from 68-75 degrees, with the cooler temps in the western communities.

The wet weather pattern will remain out of the area through Friday with only slight chances of rain next weekend…
