National Night Out events will take place across Dane County this week

As part of a nationwide movement that hosts National Night Out every August, the Madison Police Department, Madison Area Crime Stoppers and other local organizations will be hosting a series of National Night Outs this week, community-building campaigns to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.

In partnership with the Madison Mallards, a National Night Out event hosted by the Madison Police Department will take place outside of Mallards Stadium at Warner Park (2920 N. Sherman Ave.) on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 4-7 p.m. In its second-last regular season home game of the year, the Mallards will be taking on the Lakeshore Chinooks at 6:05 p.m. that night.

National Night Out, which takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August, enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community, according to its national website, and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances…
