ADA COUNTY — Public safety and transportation agencies across the county are teaming up for National Stop on Red Week to promote safe driving from Aug. 3-9.
The participants for this year’s effort include the Ada County Highway District, Boise Police Department, Garden City Police Department, Meridian Police Department, Idaho Transportation Department’s Office of Highway Safety (OHS) and the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS).
The agencies involved will be seeking to bring attention to the importance of stopping at red lights through social media, educational videos and “Wear Red Wednesday” — a visible show of support for good driving habits when residents and agency partners are encouraged to wear red. This year’s theme, “Safe Stops, Stronger Communities,” will look to highlight how proper road safety is a “shared responsibility” that can bring a “safer, more connected community,” a news release from ACHD said…
