COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – There is a new push to change the laws that govern competency in criminal cases in Colorado.
On Monday, 11 News obtained the court order explaining in detail why Joel Lang’s murder case was dropped in June. Lang had been charged with second-degree murder after police said he hit and dragged 47-year-old Kristy Kerst in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant in Monument in November of 2024. Kerst died at the scene.
