CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The new school year starts in a week for the Charleston County School District, and there are new developments looking ahead.
Superintendent Anita Huggins is going into this school year serving as the leader of the district for her second school year after being appointed in February 2024.

Weighted Student Funding
The Weighted Student Funding completed its first full year, heading into its second during the 2025-2026 school year.
