MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Family and friends gathered this morning in Mobile at the Battleship Memorial Park to mark more than two centuries of service from the United States Coast Guard.

As members stand at attention and the familiar sound of taps, those present remember the sacrifice of members of the US Coast Guard as they mark their 235th anniversary.
“This ceremony really means a lot because the names that they read that passed away here in Mobile, I knew half of them,” retired USCG Commander Jeff Davis said.
