Defense lawyer caught delivering drug-laced paperwork to detainee in Central Falls

PROVIDENCE – A longtime Connecticut defense attorney will surrender his license to practice law after he delivered synthetic cannabinoids to a client at the Donald W. Wyatt Detention Center in Central Falls, the U.S. Attorney in Providence said.

Jonathan J. Einhorn, 75, of New Haven, will give up his law license as part of a deferred prosecution agreement, Rhode Island Acting U.S. Attorney Sara Miron Bloom announced on July 25.

A headline in the New Haven Register referred to Einhorn as a “prominent New Haven attorney.” The story said, “Einhorn’s legacy has been as an accomplished criminal defense attorney and one-time mayoral candidate with decades of public service.”…
