Cedar Rapids murder trial to start for man accused of hiring hitmen to kill Chris Bagley

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The trial for the Cedar Rapids man charged with murder in the 2018 stabbing death of a Walker man starts Tuesday.

Jury selection began in the Linn County Courthouse Tuesday morning. Andrew Shaw pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in 2023. Online court documents say he hired two men to stab and kill Chris Bagley in response to alleged robberies he carried out against Shaw, a convicted drug trafficker.
