SHREVEPORT, La. – When Maggie, a four-year-old Border Collie, slipped out of a dog sitter’s yard on June 20, Kelli and Chico Hull launched a mission to bring her home. And in the weeks since, their search has turned into a citywide effort that shows no sign of slowing down.
Maggie has a notable past: she’s a rescue that participated in a prison rehabilitation program before finding her forever home with the Hulls. But her escape from a location 13 miles from her house has made the search especially challenging.
“The thing that’s making it so difficult is she wasn’t lost from home,” said Kelli Hull. “We don’t know if she’s trying to go back to the dog sitter or if she’s trying to go home.”
The Hulls have tried every avenue imaginable. They bought billboards across town, posted and distributed close to 8,000 flyers and offered a $5,000 reward…
