MINDEN, La. — An agreement to pay $25,000-plus to a Houston, Texas, couple in connection with a Minden police officer’s handling of cremated remains in a traffic stop earlier this year was done while the mayor was out of town and without the full involvement of the City Council.
That’s according to a statement Mayor Nick Cox released Tuesday on the city’s Facebook page.
