Upcoming museum exhibit traces family media evolution from radio to digital age

The Benton County Historical Society will unveil a new interactive exhibition this weekend that chronicles how American families have consumed and shared information over the past century.

“From Airwaves to Algorithms: The Evolution of Family Media” opens Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Philomath Museum and will run through April 4. The exhibit explores the transformation of media from early radio and television broadcasts to today’s personalized digital experiences.

“It’s been a delight to research and develop this exhibit, and to present it in a fun, visually engaging way,” said Natascha Adams, curator of exhibitions. “It’s unlike anything we’ve showcased at BCHS before — designed to be enjoyable for all ages and featuring hands-on interactives that I’m especially excited to share.”…
