Bradley County Schools removes hefty fines from policy on cellular device ban in class

BRADLEY COUNTY, Tenn. — Bradley County School board members called for a special meeting Tuesday to discuss their new policy that requires technology like cell phones to be put away from bell to bell.

Breaking the rule would’ve resulted in a hefty fine, which the board revoked after push back.

But some parents argue that this policy still leaves students vulnerable.

“As more parents begin calling the front offices just to reach their children, if this policy remains in place, will the school systems be bringing in additional people to manage these communications? Will schools begin offering alternative means of communication, some sort of way for the kids to communicate?”…
