Black Mountain will celebrate the uniquely Appalachian honey variety with the annual Sourwood Festival on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 9-10.
Honey purveyors of the real McCoy — produced by bees harvesting nectar from flowering Sourwood trees — will bring their riches to town to sell alongside arts and crafts booths.
Visitors will be able to buy jars of delicious sourwood honey, see bee hive demonstrations and purchase bee products. The Center for Honeybee Research will be on hand with educational sessions on the vital role of bees and tastings of various honey varieties from around the world…
