8 Cleveland police officers honored by violence prevention advocate at National Night Out

CLEVELAND — Yvonne Pointer, the founder of Positive Plus and the regional lead for the Voices of Black Mother United, honored eight Cleveland police officers at National Night Out for their exceptional care, dedication and service to the community, especially to families impacted by violence.

National Night Out is held every year on the first Tuesday in August. It’s a nationwide community building campaign to promote police-community partnerships.

“We’re out here to promote the Voices of Black Mothers United and the Woodson Center, and to talk about how we can stop the violence in our communities, especially to families who’ve lost children they love to violence,” Pointer said…
