This week marks the first anniversary of adult-use cannabis sales in Ohio. This milestone marks the significant progress the Buckeye State has made in establishing a legal cannabis industry that is both consumer-safe and economically successful.
With more than 12.6 million transactions, Ohioans have embraced the market. Since the launchof recreational sales, Ohio has generated nearly $1 billion in combined medical and adult-usecannabis revenue. Ohio’s dual system is working to meet diverse consumer needs. Recreationalsales alone totaled more than $600 million, while the medical program brought in nearly $300million.
“This first year has proven what we’ve known all along, Ohioans want a safe, tested andregulated cannabis market,” said David Bowling, Executive Director of OHCANN. “We’ve maderemarkable strides, but Rome wasn’t built in a day.
