COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – An incident involving two individuals traveling on Interstate 670 in motorized wheelchairs recently turned the heads of Columbus drivers.
On July 30, just before 3 p.m., a 911 caller alerted the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office of the incident. Once units with the sheriff’s office arrived at the scene, they found two people in motorized wheelchairs traveling on the side of I-670 westbound near Stelzer Road.

“It’s not every day that you see somebody in a wheelchair going down the berm of a freeway,” Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jim Gilbert said.
The 911 caller originally reported a crash involving a wheelchair and a vehicle, but when law enforcement arrived, the two individuals said they were not injured or involved in any crash…
