Former FedEx security employee sues company for racial discrimination

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A former FedEx employee filed a lawsuit against the company for racial discrimination.

Barbara Blake, a Black woman, worked for FedEx from 1997 until August 2024. For the last 18 years of her employment, she worked as a security officer for FedEx.

While working as a security officer for FedEx, Blake’s attorneys said that she worked alongside a white man who continuously made remarks about Black people. According to the lawsuit, some of these remarks included referring to Black women as “nappy-headed” and referring to Black people as “heathens.” Blake claimed that the man also “bragged about a beating of a Black woman while he was a police officer.”…
