LUBBOCK, Texas — The City of Lubbock Public Health department announced Monday that Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease has been spreading in Lubbock County, including at some daycare centers.
The disease is not usually serious and commonly affects children under five but usually passes within 7 to 10 days. Within those 7 to 10 days, the disease is very contagious through saliva, mucus, sneezing and stool.
There is no vaccine against Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and symptoms will include a low-grade fever and rashes on hands, feet and mouth that can turn into painful sores…
